It was a lovely day for our final performance at Scripps Miramar Ranch library. Audience members picked up rocks, learned more about Silayan Filipina, and browsed our recommended books on the patio. Thank you to Silayan Filipina and our audience. Councilperson Chris Cate addressed us before the show, and Lucas Cruz, Field Representative from Assemblyperson Lorena Gonzales’s office, honored the cast and crew with certificates after the performance. Our panel discussion centered on Community with Access Inc. attorney and Silayan President Anne Bautista, Silayan Filipina Executive Director Joy Ella Deguzman, Silayan Filipina Karilagan Youth Leadership Program Director Michelle Ella-Blake, SDPD Domestic Violence Unit Detective Rick Castro, and SDPD Multi-Cultural Community Relations Officer Lem Sainsanoy. Thank you to Scripps Miramar Ranch librarian Trevor Jones, Melissa Giffen, and staff. Please share your feedback with California Humanities here.
